The first day focuses on the museums and the Old Town, while the second day immerses you in the world of typical Swiss highlights - cheese, chocolate and mountains.

Day 1: 8.00 a.m.

Breakfast in the old town of St.Gallen

Start your day in the heart of St. Gallen with a tasty breakfast. There are lots of places to eat brunch in St. Gallen, from trendy city cafés to traditional bakeries. You'll find something to suit everyone's taste.

Day 1: 9.30 - 10.30 a.m.

Get to know the city of St.Gallen

Take a stroll through the historic old town of St.Gallen with its winding alleys and over 100 ornately decorated bay windows. The best way to do this is to hire an audio guide from the St.Gallen Tourist Information Centre. The audio guide will take you to the city's most important sights and tell you exciting anecdotes about its history. You will learn interesting details about the baroque cathedral, the textile history and the picturesque old town with its oriels.

Day 1: 10.30 - 11.15 a.m.

Discover the UNESCO World Heritage Site

The audio guide will also tell you lots of interesting facts about the Abbey District of St.Gallen, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983. A must see in St.Gallen is the Abbey Library, with its magnificent Baroque architecture, ornate ceiling paintings and centuries-old manuscripts. Other highlights include the exhibition hall and the vaulted cellar. You are sure to be captivated by the atmosphere of the Abbey District.

Exploring the history of textiles

A visit to the St.Gallen Textile Museum is a must for anyone interested in design, craftsmanship and history. The permanent exhibition presents the impressive tradition of the St.Gallen textile industry, which has made the region world-famous. From filigree embroidery to innovative fabric designs, you can admire masterpieces of textile art that once graced the catwalks from Paris to New York.

St.Gallen bratwurst and more

After so much culture and history, it's time for a refreshing lunch break. Everywhere in the city you can try the famous St.Gallen Bratwurst, one of the traditional 4B's (Bratwurst, Bürli, Beer and Biber). This speciality is traditionally eaten without mustard and is a real treat. You will also find many other restaurants in the city centre offering fresh and regional dishes – perfect for fortifying yourself for an afternoon full of new impressions.

Day 1: 1.30 - 5.00 p.m.

Trip to Lake Constance

In the afternoon, head towards the Lake of Constance. A 15-minute train ride will take you to Rorschach, where a stroll along the lakeside promenade awaits. The scheduled boats of Schweizerische Bodensee-Schifffahrt AG invite you on a voyage of discovery on and around Lake Constance. Enjoy the Mediterranean lifestyle on Lake Constance before returning to St.Gallen.

Day 1: 5.00 - 6.30 p.m.

Souvenir shopping

Before you end your day, it's time to pick up some souvenirs: the St.Gallen Tourist Information Centre has a wide range of local products and souvenirs. For chocolate lovers, a visit to Praline Scherrer is a must. Here you can discover exquisite chocolates, which represent the famous St.Gallen embroideries in a delicious way. An ideal gift or a sweet souvenir of your visit to St.Gallen!

Dinner in a traditional «Erststockbeizli»

After an exciting day, it's time to stop off at one of the typical St.Gallen«Erststockbeizli». These charming restaurants are located on the upper floors of historic buildings and offer a cosy atmosphere with traditional flair. Enjoy a tasty Swiss dinner, regional dishes and toast your unforgettable experiences in St.Gallen with a good glass of wine or a local beer.

Breathtaking view on the Säntis

Another great thing about the St.Gallen-Lake Constance region is the Säntis, which is one of the highest mountains in eastern Switzerland. At 2502 metres above sea level, there's an interactive adventure world and amazing views. You can linger, discover and marvel at them all. In the spectacular summit restaurant, you can enjoy fine regional food and a fantastic view.

Day 2: 2.30 - 4.30 p.m.

Chocolarium experience tour

The Chocolarium, Munz and Minor's factory of happiness, is all about discovery, awe and enjoyment. There's a whole world of chocolate to explore here. On the interactive tour, you'll learn how happiness gets into chocolate. And the best thing is, you can snack as much as you like!

Day 2: 6.00 - 10.00 p.m

Evening full of enjoyment & fun

Back in St. Gallen, we've got an enjoyable evening of games, fun and excitement lined up for you! You're invited to enjoy a delicious dinner at the Candela restaurant before trying your luck at the Swiss Casino St. Gallen just across the street. Best of luck!
