Frequently asked questions

We generally recommend booking private tours at least four weeks in advance. You may be able to book at shorter notice, depending on availability. For bookings with less than 2 working days’ notice, there is an express surcharge of CHF 40.

Private tours of the old town (including the Abbey Library and the Textile Museum) can be booked in English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese and Japanese, depending on availa-bility. Themed tours are available on request.

Classic tours of the old town take between 1 and 2 hours. Allow 1 hour for a tour of the old town only and 1.5 hours if you also visit the cathedral and the Abbey Library. The themed tours vary in duration, depending on the content (but also take about 1.5 hours on average).

You can pay for private tours either directly on site or upon receipt of an invoice. For bookings by over-seas companies, we require advance payment by credit card.

Children are welcome on most of the city tours, except for the «St.Gallen Beer Stories» tour, the «Lust and Vice» tour and the e-bike tour.

We cannot accept any changes to bookings, or cancellations, even if bad weather is forecast. Our tours take place in all weathers, so we always recommend bringing clothing for all types of weather. Our guides will make sure you can stand out of the rain on stopping points during the tour.

It is not possible to combine different tour topics, because each tour has just the right amount of content to make it a complete experience.

Our classic city tours are all fully accessible. There is also a tour called «Hearing and Touching St.Gallen» that is particularly suitable for groups with visually impaired or blind people.
