Voralpen-Express

Voralpen-Express
The most beautiful combination of nature and culture
The hourly Voralpen-Express of the Schweizerische Südostbahn AG between Lucerne and St.Gallen is the most beautiful combination of nature and culture. On the route from Lucerne to St.Gallen, the view of the Rigi and the Schwyzer Mythen is fascinating. Passing the largest contiguous area of high moorland near Rothenthurm, the train rolls on over the Rapperswil lake dam. Through the hilly Toggenburg region and over Switzerland's highest railroad viaduct (99 meters), the copper-colored Voralpen-Express arrives in the eastern Swiss metropolis of St.Gallen, whose abbey district is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
