St.Gallen is known throughout the world as a textile city. Prominent fashion houses like Chanel, Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani and many others incorporate St.Gallen embroidery into their designs, and the big name fashion shows in Paris, Milan or New York all feature haute couture creations made from St.Gallen fabrics. The creations are worn by many celebrities including, Michelle Obama, Adele, Madonna and Charlène, Princess of Monaco.
The textile shop in the St.Gallen Tourist Information office has a unique selection of gifts and souvenirs – whether some St.Gallen lace to wear on your wrist, beautiful embroidery motifs or velvety arm warmers.
