Philosophical Valley Path

Pure nature and idyll from the Wenigerweiher to St.Georgen

The Philosophentalweg forms a section on the Industry and Nature Trail. The starting point is the "Schwarzer Bären" stop of the Appenzeller Bahnen from St.Gallen to Trogen. The beautiful trail starts at the Wenigerweiher. Benches and walls invite you to linger. Lush flower meadows line the path. Depending on the season, you can also see and hear toads or frogs, as this is also an important amphibian spawning area. At the end of the pond, the trail leads through sections of forest and over bridges along the Steinach River. Soon you can see the houses on the outskirts of St.Gallen in the beautiful quarter of St.Georgen. The path is gently sloping and is therefore also ideally suited for families.
