open art museum
The open art museum presents exhibitions that bridge the gap between Art Brut, naïve art, and contemporary art. It brings people together through art and sees itself as an open space for art without boundaries, with a focus on outsider art.
The open art museum boasts a collection of over 30,000 works by more than 180 artists and champions the existential significance of artistic creation—both for the individual and for society as a whole.
The rotating exhibitions showcase works that captivate viewers with their versatility, unusual subject matter, and inventiveness. At the same time, they tell stories of lived experience—art full of stories. The exhibitions demonstrate that art emerges everywhere—often from everyday life, using simple means and materials. It opens up surprising perspectives and invites visitors to rediscover both the familiar and the unfamiliar.
A special focus is placed on educational programs for children and young people.
