Cobesen Mill

The artist Wilhelm Lehmann (1884 to 1974) created a life's work in the Kobesenmühle, which is carefully maintained by the Wilhelm Lehmann Foundation and made accessible in the exhibition and the magnificent natural garden.

The Kobesenmühle is a quiet, idyllic place with a pond, a babbling brook, and a rich variety of nature. From 1917 to 1974, the unconventional artist and thinker Wilhelm Lehmann worked in the old mill. His expressive sculptures, woodcuts, and drawings, along with his profound thinking, have timeless significance. The exhibition at the Kobesenmühle offers an interesting insight into Wilhelm Lehmann’s work. It is curated anew each year and occasionally supplemented with works by other artists. Coffee and cake are served in the museum’s natural garden during opening hours.
