Mariaberg Monastery

The former Mariaberg Monastery in Rorschach on Lake Constance is the most powerful late Gothic monastery complex in Switzerland.
With its unique architecture, it takes visitors on a journey through time of the most diverse architectural styles. The basic structure of the monastery building is late Gothic. However, the numerous destructions and reconstruction works have led to the fact that the different epochs have left their traces in the Mariaberg - from the late Gothic to the Baroque style.
In addition to the architectural attractions, the building also offers a varied insight into the history of Switzerland from the 15th century onwards.
The monastery complex houses the Pedagogical College of the Canton of St.Gallen, the Foundation and the Mariaberg Alumni Association.
The PHSG offers guided tours with competent guides.
