Firing raku ceramics – creative and exciting
Discover hidden talents and strengthen team spirit in a unique way!
What is raku firing?
Raku means happiness, well-being, and joy. It is a traditional Japanese ceramic technique that dates back to the 15th century and captivates with its unpredictable, fascinating results.
The bowls and objects are first designed by the guests using special raku colors according to their whims, then heated in the kiln to approx. 950 degrees until the colors shine beautifully. During this time, guests can enjoy a small aperitif while loading the kilns with wood.
The bowls are removed from the kiln while still red-hot and are first placed in sawdust and covered, creating the cracks in the glaze that are typical of raku. Guests then wash their bowls in water, which brings the colors back to life. Each bowl is a unique and surprising one-of-a-kind piece, and you never know exactly what the result will be in advance.
An ideal team event and supporting program for an aperitif
This experience is not only about craftsmanship, but above all about working together and enjoying what you do. In a relaxed atmosphere, creativity is unleashed, often opening up completely new perspectives within a team. Each guest takes their creations home with them.
