Schützengarten Brewery
The Schützengarten brewery was founded in 1779 which makes it the oldest brewery in Switzerland.
The city of St.Gallen has a long tradition of brewing beer. As early as 820, St.Gallen had three breweries marked on the map of its Abbey District. The Schützengarten brewery was founded in 1779 by Johann Ulrich Tobler and is today the oldest brewery in Switzerland. Still in the original location, Schützengarten is a successful, independent company and one of the most modern breweries in Switzerland technologically speaking. In addition to the production and sale of the award-winning Schützengarten beers, the brewery also sells a wide range of other drinks.
