Vineyard at Gupfen
In the vineyard at Gupfen 1500 vines were planted. The Kerner variety, little known in eastern Switzerland, is grown as white wine, and Pinot Noir and Merlot as red wine.
The orientation of the newly created vineyard is south facing and lies between 600 - 640m above sea level. Thanks to the exceptional location of the Gupfen, excellent wines can still mature at this altitude. The extreme southern exposure and the influence of the foehn from the Rhine valley certainly contribute to the good success of the wines.
