Rorschach harbor
Its location on the southernmost bay of Lake Constance made Rorschach an important trade and transport hub since the Middle Ages.
Since 947, thanks to a royal privilege, market could be held. Abbot Ulrich Rösch renewed the port around 1470. The grain market was liquidated in 1908. In 1870, the elegantly curved harbor pier, faced with local sandstones, was built. The goods shed on the harbor square "Güterex" from the same period was demolished in 2008.
