Museum Appenzell

The museum focuses mainly on Appenzell hand embroidery, traditional costumes, folklore, customs, crafts, farmer's paintings and furniture painting. Special exhibitions on everyday rural life and Innerrhoden's cultural history are also part of the programme. The museum houses the extensive international embroidery collection. The centrepiece are the hand-embroidered lace products, which were once important for Appenzell Innerrhoden. The exhibition also features the Innerrhoden traditional costumes which are closely linked to Appenzell hand embroidery.
