Rheinpark shopping centre

The Rheinpark in St.Margrethen is considered a pioneer among Swiss shopping centres. It was built in 1974 based on an American model. The shopping centre was remodelled over a two year-period and reopened in 2009. The elliptical atrium and elliptical dome let in lots of sunlight to ensure the best possible lighting conditions. The unusual benches, which were specially designed for the Rheinpark, invite shoppers to give their feet a rest in a comfortable spot.
