Church Linsebühl

Church Linsebühl
Somewhat off the beaten track, yet still in the center of town, stands the striking Linsebühl Church, built in 1895-1897 in the neo-Renaissance style.
The richly decorated interior was lavishly restored in 1989-1992 and offers a festive and at the same time somewhat playful atmosphere with excellent acoustics for music and singing. The organ, also built in 1897 and restored in 1992 by the Goll company from Lucerne, with pneumatic action as well as 3 manuals, pedal and 38 stops, is one of the few remaining purely romantic organs and is known far beyond the city and cantonal borders. In addition to church services, which are usually well attended, many concerts take place in the Linsebühl church. With its large forecourt and the adjacent parish hall, it is also very well suited for weddings and other festive occasions. With the galleries, the church can seat 810 people (nave alone: 512 people).
