Church of St. Columban

Church of St. Columban
The settlement of Rorschach progressed from the 4th century. Already in the 8th century a first little church stood here.
Above the entrance portal is the patron saint Columban, educator of the Irish messenger of the faith Gallus. The current facade dates back to the renovation of 1885 under the church architect August Hardegger. Inside, the ceiling painting by Andreas Brugger from 1782 is impressive. It is definitely worth visiting the former cemetery behind the church, where the "Necessary Way" was established in 1999.
