The Sitterwerk on the premises of a former textile dye works is a vibrant place for art and artistic production.
The Sitterwerk is centre for art and culture. The Art Library with its 25,000 volumes and the Material Archive which contains a collection of materials and substances used to make and restore works of art are both open to the public. The Kesselhaus Josephsohn , a permanent exhibition and storage space for the sculptures and plaster models of Hans Josephsohn, is also publicly accessible. His works are shown and preserved in this space. It is also where his works are loaned and sold to exhibitions and collections. The Sitterwerk is enriched by the other artistic enterprises surrounding it, including the Kunstgiesserei , a large foundry that acts as a studio and photo laboratory, creating an inspiring and creative atmosphere.
