Appenzell Museum of Customs
Have you heard of the mystical New Year's Eve lice or the ancient Bloch custom?
The living customs are the center of the exhibition. The main themes are the New Year's Eve haymaking, the alpine journey, the Bloch and the cattle show. The museum tour offers insights into alpine dairymen's lives, peasant living quarters, the world of traditional costumes, traditional workshops and folk art.
Dulcimer, zither, bass fiddle, hand organ, Schwyzerörgeli, piano, Talerschwingen and Schellenschötten can be tried out.
