Here, visitors can learn all kinds of interesting facts about the fascinating world of medicinal and culinary herbs.
In the 1930s, Alfred Vogel (1902 – 1996), a pioneer in natural medicine, moved to Teufen in the Appenzell region, where he lived, wrote successful books about health and healthy living and began making herbal remedies from medicinal plants. Today, Teufen is home to the A.Vogel medicinal herb garden, the A.Vogel Museum and the A.Vogel publishing house. Around 120 different medicinal plants and edible herbs grow in the garden alongside heritage fruit varieties at around 1,000 metres above sea level. – surrounded by the magnificent panorama of the Alpstein, a sub-group of the Appenzell Alps, nestled in the gentle green hills of the Appenzell region. A visit to Teufen to learn about A.Vogel is the perfect day trip or event for your company or organisation.
