St.Gallen Textile Museum

St.Gallen Textile Museum

What would a textile city like St.Gallen be without a textile museum?

Since 1887, the Textile Museum St.Gallen has housed one of the most important textile collections in Switzerland in the "Palazzo Rosso". Fabrics and embroideries from all over the world, pattern books, design drawings and photographs illustrate the fortunes of the Swiss textile industry between regional ties and international interdependencies.

It hosts two to three special exhibitions per year, which thematically complement the permanent exhibition on the history of textiles in eastern Switzerland. A varied program of events, educational museum activities and an attractive store complement the Textile Museum's offerings.
