Museum Prestegg

Since its reopening in 2021, the Prestegg Museum has been part of the Center for History and Culture of the Rhine Valley.

The listed building houses one of the oldest museum collections in the region. Semi-permanent exhibitions are presented in the rooms of the historic building. A permanent exhibition, which focuses on various areas of daily life, will be successively established.

Once a medieval town house, residence of the Rhine Valley reformer Vogler, then a stately home of the important textile trading family Custer, brewery and restaurant, the Prestegg is now a regional museum for the Rhine Valley. Changing special exhibitions and smaller public events complete the offer. Families, younger visitors and school classes are particularly welcome.

Individual rooms of the museum can be rented for seminars, conferences and various events. The Remise is ideal for aperitifs and small receptions. During the museum's opening hours, guests can relax here with a café or enjoy the museum garden.

The showpiece of the house - the Hall of the Gods - is a stylish setting for concerts, readings and meetings. In addition, it is possible to get married under the painted sky of the gods - the Hall of the Gods is the wedding room of the Rheintal Civil Registry Office.
